Universities who offer Veterinary Programs

Here, we’ll take a look at the fifty universities with a veterinary program throughout the United States. These schools all have prestigious veterinary programs, and can offer experience and learning to students.

  1. Michigan State University – Michigan State University, located in East Lansing, Michigan, is a public four-year coed university with about thirty-five thousand undergrads. It is a residential campus in a suburban setting of a small city.
  2. Penn State University – Penn State University, which is situated in University Park, Pennsylvania, is a public four year coed college that accepts roughly half of its applicants. It is in the suburban area of a large town and has a residential campus, and holds about forty thousand students.
  3. Texas A&M University – Texas A&M University is a four year public university located in College Station, Texas. The city is relatively small, and the campus is in a rural setting. It is residential, and there are currently about thirty-eight thousand students.
  4. University of California: Fresno – The University of California in Fresno is a California State University (or CSU) and is a four-year university accepting both men and women. It accepts roughly two thirds of its applicants, and is a Hispanic Serving school.
  5. University of Kentucky – The University of Kentucky, located in Lexington, Kentucky, is a public four year university in an urban setting. It is a commuter campus, as it is part of a larger city. There are roughly twenty thousand undergraduate students.
  6. Kent State University – Kent State, located in Kent, Ohio, is a public four year institution in the suburban area of a large town. There are about twenty thousand undergrad students and five thousand graduate students.
  7. University of Florida – The University of Florida, located in Gainesville, Florida, is a public four year university. It accepts about forty percent of its applicants, and has an undergraduate student body of about thirty-five thousand.
  8. Broward College – Broward College is located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and is a two year community college. There are bachelor’s degrees offered, and the campus is situated in an urban area of the small city. There are about forty thousand students.
  9. Purdue University – Purdue is situated in the suburban area of Lafayette, Indiana, which is a small-medium city. It is a public four year university and is regionally accredited. It accepts roughly seventy-two percent of applicants and has a student body of thirty thousand.

10.  University of Illinois: Champaign – The University of Illinois at Champaign is a school of about thirty thousand undergraduates. It is a public four year institution and is regionally accredited, and is a member of North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

11.  University of Minnesota: Twin Cities – The University of Minnesota at Twin Cities is a public four year university that accepts about half of its applicants. There is currently an undergraduate student body of about thirty-three thousand. It is located in an urban setting of a very large city, but has a residential campus.

12.  Florida State University – Florida State University is a public four-year school in an urban setting of a small to medium city. It has a residential campus and about twenty-nine thousand undergraduate students. There are about seven and a half thousand graduate students.

13.  University of California: Santa Barbara – UC Santa Barbara is a public four year university. It has a student body of about twenty-five thousand, three thousand of which are graduate students. It accepts roughly fifty percent of applicants.

14.  University of Akron – The University of Akron, Ohio, is a public four year university in an urban setting. The city of Akron is medium sized, and the campus does not have housing. There are about twenty thousand undergraduate students.

15.  Auburn University – Auburn University, in Auburn, Alabama, is a public four year university with about twenty thousand undergrad and five thousand graduate students. It accepts eighty percent of applicants and is a regionally accredited school.

16.  University of Iowa – The University of Iowa is public four year school with about twenty-five thousand students, six thousand of which are graduate students. It accepts about eighty percent of its applicants, and is in an urban setting of a small city.

17.  University of Cincinnati – The University of Cincinnati is located in the urban area of the large city. It is a commuter campus, and is a four year public university. It accepts roughly sixty percent of applicants, and has about twenty thousand undergrad students.

18.  University of Massachusetts Amherst – The University of Massachusetts at Amherst is a college of about twenty thousand undergraduate students and six thousand graduates. It is a public four year institution.

19.  Indiana University at Indianapolis – Indiana University at Indianapolis is a school of about twenty thousand undergrads and six thousand graduates. It is a public four year school and is located in an urban setting, with a commuter campus, in a very large city.

20.  University of Oklahoma – The University of Oklahoma is a large school with about twenty thousand students and ten thousand graduate students. It is a public four year school.

21.  Grand Valley State University – Grand Valley State University is located in Allendale, Michigan. It is a medium sized school, with about twenty thousand students. It is set in a suburban setting in a large town, and has a residential campus.

22.  University of Arizona – The University of Arizona, located in Tucson, is a public four year school in an urban setting. Tucson is a very large city, and the school has a residential campus.  There are about thirty-five thousand students, five thousand of which are graduate students.

23.  University of Wisconsin – The University of Wisconsin at Madison is a public four year institution with about thirty thousand undergraduate students and eight thousand grad students. It is in the urban center of the small city.

24.  University of Washington – The University of Washington is a large school with about forty thousand students, ten thousand of which are graduate students. It is a large four year school, with a residential campus in the urban area of the city.

25.  Pima College – Pima college is a public two year school that offers associate’s degrees, and is a Hispanic serving technical college. There are about forty thousand students, seven thousand of which are graduate students.

26.  Texas State University – Texas State University at San Marcos is a four year public school. It is regionally accredited, and has about thirty thousand students. Five thousand of these are grad students. The campus is for commuters, and it is in the suburban area of town.

27.  University of Maryland – The University of Maryland at College Park is a public four year university. It is regionally accredited, has about thirty-three thousand students, and accepts about forty-two percent of its applicants.

28.  University of Georgia – The University of Georgia is a public four year university that accepts about half of its applicants. There are thirty thousand students, eight thousand of which are graduate students.

29.  UC David – The University of California at Davis is a public four year school. It has about thirty thousand students, one fifth of which are graduate students. It is located in the suburban area of town, and has a residential campus.

31.  Texas Tech University – Texas Tech University is a public four year school, with roughly twenty-eight thousand students. Five thousand of these are graduate students. It is in an urban area in the small city of Lubbock, Texas.

41.  Washington State University – Washington State University is located in Pullman, and is a four year public college. It accepts about seventy-five percent of applicants, and has about twenty-five thousand students.

42.  Middle Tennessee State University – Middle Tennessee State University is located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and has about twenty thousand undergrad students and three thousand graduate students. It is a four year public university.

43.  Colorado State University – Colorado State University, located in Fort Collins, Colorado, is a school of about twenty-eight thousand students. It is a public four year university and accepts roughly seventy-two percent of applicants.

44.  Iowa State University – Iowa State University, in Ames, Iowa, is set in the urban part of the small city. It has twenty five thousand in the student body, and accepts eighty-five percent of applicants.

45.  St. Petersburg College – St. Petersburg College in Florida is a public two year college that offers both associate’s and bachelor’s degrees. There are twenty-nine thousand undergraduate students.

46.  Abilene Christian University – Abilene Christian University is a school with strong religious ties located in Abilene, Texas. It is a private four year university and accepts just under half of its applicants. There are about four thousand undergraduate students and about a thousand grad students.

47.  Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College – ABAC is a public two year agricultural and technical school located in Tifton, Georgia. There are roughly five thousand students, and the college offers both associate’s and bachelor’s degrees.

48.  Gwynedd-Mercy College – Gwynedd-Mercy College is located in Gwynedd Valley, Pennsylvania, and is a private four-year liberal arts college. They offer associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees.

49.  Heidelberg University – Heidelberg University, located in Tiffin, Ohio, is a small university in a suburban setting of a large town. It is related to the United Church of Christ and is a private four year school.

50.  Maryville College – Maryville College is a Presbyterian school located in Maryville, Tennessee. It is a private four year school with about one thousand students.
